Mickey Kydes Soccer is dedicated to providing youth soccer players with a top flight soccer education. Mickey Kydes – Program Director
Played professional soccer from 1987 – 1996 in Europe and the United States, also a member of the United States National Team in 1987. Retired from professional soccer in 1996 from the NY/NJ MetroStars of Major League Soccer. Grew up playing youth travel soccer in Norwalk, CT where he played four years as a High School starter. Two time All-American at Long Island University where he graduated with a degree in Marketing. President and Founder of Mickey Kydes Soccer (MKS), established in 1996 with over 300 children participating; MKSE has now grown to over six thousand children participating in it’s various programs. Also, the president and founder of the Beachside of CT Boys Premier program established in 1994. He is a United States Soccer Federation ‘A’ and ‘Youth’ level licensed coach. Paul Melitsanopoulos – Communications and Public Relations Director
Goalkeeper and 4 year varsity member for Norwalk High School coach by Kurt Simenson 2000-‐2004. Member of the 2002 FCIAC Championship team which was ranked 4th in the state of CT. Senior year, captain for Norwalk and was voted as ALL-FCIAC 1st team. Starting goalkeeper for Beachside U16 and U17 and played for Brian Quinn, who currently coaches Bridgeport Univ. Three year member of Western Connecticut State University men’s soccer team. Freshmen year, started off the year 5th in New England for Division 3 schools in the country. Sophomore year, member of Little East Conference Champions (LEC), NCAA participant. Team ranked in the top 10 in New England, which captured a key win against Kean State in LEC playoffs, who were ranked top 20 in the country. Paul has been coaching for Norwalk since 2001 and working for Mickey Kydes soccer camps for 4 years. Paul has coached players ranging in ages from 4‐17. Paul believes a good coach has a tremendous influence on his players not just in the game of soccer but in the real world as well. A United States Soccer Association ‘B’ licensed coach. Gabriel Stan – Co-Coaching Director
Grew up in Romania where he played for the Rapid Bucharest Juniors System. A member of the St. Pantelimon Soccer Academy. Has coached the Danbury Dynamo boys premier team and boys and girls travel teams for Wilton Soccer from 1998 to 2003. Worked at Transylvania soccer camps for the last several years. He is a United States Soccer Federation ‘B’ level licensed coach. Coaching Director for Westport Soccer travel program U11-U14. Worked in Westport Soccer rec clinics since 2003. Coaching in the MKS organization since 2003.
Allan Zuniga – Co-Coaching Director
Played college soccer at Sacred Heart University where he was named All-American. Went on to play five years of professional soccer in Nicaragua for 1st division team Walter Ferrepy Club. He is a United States Soccer Federation ‘B’ level licensed coach. Coached boys travel teams in the Old Greenwich and Westport travel program for 5 years. Coaching Director for Westport Soccer travel program U9-U10. Program Director for the WSA Recreation K-2nd grade clinics from 2002-2010. Head Coach Beachside Boys U13 team. Coaching in the MKS organization since 1999.
Peter is going into his 3rd season coaching with MKS organization. Growing up, he played Westport Travel soccer as well as constantly attending MKS summer camps. He continued to play soccer throughout high school and college, and eventually made the transition to coaching immediately after college. He graduated in 2011 from Southern Connecticut State University, with degrees in Exercise Science, Nutrition, and Wellness. In addition to coaching, Peter is also a personal trainer at Personal Training Professionals of Wilton, where he specializes in youth fitness.
Most Valuable high school player in New York City. Played four years at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck New Jersey - Team Captain Senior Year. B.S Finance 1987 / FDU Hall of Fame. Played international tournaments at Lake Cuomo Italy, Zurich Switzerland, Helsinki Finland, Gotternburg Sweden, and also played in Colombia Copa Ciudad de Pereira. Coached at Tab Ramos and Staten Island Soccer programs and summer camps. Holds a United States Soccer Federation National ‘C’ coaching license. Coaching in the MKS organization since 2012.
Ferid is originally from from Bosnia & Herzegovina. He moved to the United States in the year 2000. After high school Ferid attended Sacred Heart University where he played NCAA Division 1 soccer. He graduated with a B.A. in Graphic Design. After college he worked as a manager at Goooal Sports Indoor Soccer Facility in Stratford, coaching young players of all ages. Ferid Coaches the 'Brazilian Squad' men's soccer team in the Connecticut Soccer League. Currently the head coach for U13 Boys, and U15 Girls Beachside Premier Program. Ferid currently holds a United States Soccer Federation B License and has been coaching for the MKS Organization since 2007.
Tom was the Men's Assistant at Southern Connecticut State University for last 2 years. He previously had a 2-year stint as Assistant at University of New Haven, helping them qualify for their only Northeast 10 Conference tournament. Tom was a two time All FCIAC performer at Norwalk High, was a part of a Greens Farms Academy team that was ranked #1 in New England, and was a Region I Pool selection. He then played at Southern CT, appearing in 2 NCAA Tournaments, helping the team reach the Elite 8, and win the Northeast 10 Conference tournament. He has previously coached with the CJSA ODP program, Shoreline FC, and Norwalk Junior Soccer Association. In Norwalk he was the Director of their "Micro Accel" Program. Tom was named CJSA Young Coach of the Year in 2012 and holds a USSF "B" License and USSF National Youth License. Currently the head coach of the U15-16 Beachside Academy team and has been in the MKS organization since 2014.
Born in Montevideo, Uruguay and raised in Trumbull, CT. Played soccer in Trumbull’s youth program and went onto to be a 4 year player, 3 year starter at Trumbull High School. A member of the Trumbull U19 premier team that represented CT in the US Region 1 competition in 1994. Went on to play 2 years at Merrimack College, Andover, MA; then transferred and played junior and senior years at Western CT State University, reaching the Division 3 NCAA tournament in 1998. Coached U9 and U10 boys travel teams in Trumbull and worked at various summer soccer camps before moving to San Diego. Javier is currently the manager of the “Soccer Post”, a soccer specialty store in Fairfield. Coaching WSA travel teams since 2002. Head Coach Beachside U12 Boys team. Coaching in the MKS organization since 2003.
Matt, a Connecticut native, grew up playing at the premier , high school, and ODP level before playing for Jacksonville University (Division 1) on athletic and academic scholarships. Matt’s passion and enthusiasm for the game allowed for an easy transition into coaching. In 2008 Matt began coaching for MLS Soccer Camps where he coached numerous summer and winter clinics at both the recreational and travel levels before being named the head coach of the Masuk High School JV boys.Matt joined the town of Weston the following year as a travel coach where he continued coaching there for the next 3 years. In his time at Weston, Matt has led several different teams to undefeated seasons including a divisional championship with the U12 boys. In addition to his coaching duties, Matt was named Director of Coaching, and Recreational, Director for the towns of Redding and Weston, respectively. Although he is proud of the success of his former teams, Matt continues to emphasize individual player development and personal growth. Matt has an NSCAA and graduated with a B.A. in Anthropology/Sociology. Matt is the head coach for the Beachside U10 Boys and Westport Soccer U14 Girls teams. Coaching in the MKS soccer organization at clinics and camps since 2013.
George has played soccer for over 18 years in very competitive teams. He has played for premier clubs, located in Connecticut, Beachside, South Central, Newtown and Samba from 2000-2006. Playing for these premier teams, we traveled all over the east coast to play in top quality tournaments and college show cases. Playing for beachside we won state championship and qualified for regionals in 2004. In 2005, he has traveled overseas to play soccer in Europe for United States Soccer Academy. He has played in Italy and played against top premier teams. Throughout the years of playing, to get better at the sport, He has played college soccer for the University of Long Island, C.W Post campus 2008-2009. Certified personal trainer and sports nutritionist (AFPA). He holds an E coaching license from the CJSA. Coaching in the MKS soccer organization at clinics and camps since 2014.
Jeisson has been working with youth soccer players for the past 4 years now in Stamford, Greenwich, Westport and Chelsea Piers. Plays soccer in the southwest CT adult soccer leagues. Coaching in the MKS organization since 2011.
George graduated from UCONN with a degree in Mathematics and is now attending University of Bridgeport to attain his Masters in Education. Currently a math teacher at Darien High School. Plays soccer in the adult Weston Soccer League. Coaching in the MKS organization since 2012.
