WSA Memorial Day Parade
WSA players and parents are all welcome to march with WSA in the 2018 Wilton Memorial Day Parade to honor our soldiers past and present and celebrate our freedom.

WSA will meet at 9AM Monday, May 28th in the back parking lot behind Wilton Hardware - Look for the Banner announcing Wilton Soccer! Please note, parking will be a challenge so you will want to park somewhere near town and walk to the lot.

WSA will meet be behind the Wilton Congregational Church where you can pick up your child and depart from there.

Please feel free to get creative with face paints, banners, etc. and march with your Wilton Soccer Navy jerseys in teams or as part of the group. Bring plenty of water, comfortable shoes and sun block. Candy, gum or any other type of food during the parade is not allowed. Do not leave any young children unattended. Parents are free to march with kids or arrange oversight with a coach if marching in a team.

For those unfamiliar with the event, the parade route runs from Wilton Hardware to Merwin Meadows and kicks off at 10:00am.

Below is a link to sign up your child and to volunteer to march in the parade:

We hope to see you there!

Over the last 40 years (wow!), while much has changed around town, one thing has stayed the same, kids of all ages have enjoyed WSA soccer every fall and spring. Over 1,000 families and 150 volunteers make this possible and we are very grateful.  WSA’s mission is to help children grow through soccer by providing programs for the youngest, the most casual and still exploring, the multi-sport athlete and the most passionate players.

In Fall 2018, we will again offer our Tots/Pre-K and K-2 programs for all our “Junior Warriors” of ages 3-9.  These programs prioritize participation and fun along with early soccer development in a friendly environment.  We would love if every child in town joined these programs as they are outdoors, among friends and super fun!

As players reach ages 9 and 10 (and progress through to high school), they are invited to participate in our Travel and Warrior programs. Our goal at these ages is for our players to continue (or begin) their soccer journey at the appropriate level and pace.  These programs emphasizes core values such as enjoyment, effort, accountability and respect in the context of soccer development lead by professional coaches.

Travel teams are comprised of all Wilton players, practice twice per week, play one game per week against neighboring town teams and participate in a few tournaments per year.  This coming fall, our Travel programs will be offered for children born in 2010 and older with multiple teams at most age groups.  Travel teams are a two-season commitment (fall and spring) and formed based on evaluations held each spring.  In the busier spring season, WSA makes a point to offer greater flexibility to accommodate travel players’ other sports and activities commitments.  Registration for evaluations is now open.

The Warrior program offers a more casual soccer development experience.  Warrior is offered on a single season basis in the fall or spring, practices one time per week and plays games on Saturdays against neighboring town teams. Interested players can participate in both Travel and Warrior teams in the same season.

Our partnership with CT Rush provides an avenue for interested players to pursue soccer with further focus and commitment. Rush offers a “Developmental” program for 8 – 10-year olds and one Premier team per age group for 12 - 18-year olds. Premier soccer is a higher level of commitment than both our Warrior and Travel programs.

WSA is committed to helping families and players navigate their soccer journey to maximize their experience and potential.
